Fruit and Nut Flapjack Bars.

Today was the perfect day to make these delicious Fruit and Nut Flapjack Bars. Spurred on to make something remotely healthy, after watching the kids reach one more time into the biscuit tin, I decided to gather together the ingredients and mix up a batch or two.

Ingredients:

200g bag of mixed fruit and nut.
100g currants.
300g porridge oats.
200g Stork margarine.
200g golden syrup.
100g milk chocolate.

Method:

In a saucepan, over a low heat, melt the margarine and golden syrup together. Once melted, add all the other ingredients, except the chocolate and stir until they are all well incorporated. Put the mixture into a greased and lined baking tray and bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

Once cooked and the top browned, melt the milk chocolate and drizzle over the top of the flapjack bar,
allow to cool before eating.

If you love Cadburys Fruit and Nut chocolate bars, you will be in Heaven with this little concoction and it's less calories too :-)
